Annie White is an Assistant Professor with the Early Childhood Studies program at California State University, Channel Islands. She is also a recipient of the Simms/Mann Institute Faculty Fellowship. As part of the Simms/Mann Fellowship, White is working on a research project using Learning Stories with homeless shelters in Southern California. She is currently working with Early Head Start, Head Start, State Preschool, and Family Childcare Homes on implementing Learning Stories in conjunction with the DRDP.
Her prior work experience includes over 18 years of work experience with Early Head Start, Head Start, EHS-CC Partnership, State Preschool, and PITC Partners for Quality in various roles such as, manager, curriculum and training specialist, home visitor, and family advocate. White taught early childhood education courses at Sierra Community College and American River College. In addition, she participated on national and international study tours, including Reggio Emilia and Pistoia, Italy, Budapest, Hungary and Auckland, New Zealand.
White holds a PhD in leadership in education from the University of California, Davis and Sonoma State University.
