Consuelo Espinosa is a member of WestEd since 1999. Espinosa has been working for the past 30 years with children, families, and teachers of young children. She is an Area Manager for the Regional Support Network (RSN), housed within CCFS' Program for Infant/Toddler Care (PITC). PITC RSN provides on-site training and technical assistance to California's infant/toddler centers as well as family child care and licensed exempt providers caring for children birth to three years of age. Espinosa was also responsible for supporting the Cabrillo College PITC demonstration program in Aptos from 1999-2010.
Espinosa has worked as a preschool teacher for Migrant Head Start, Head Start, and a Community College Lab Program. She was instrumental in developing the first infant/toddler center for the Gilroy (CA) Unified School District teen parent program. For 10 years, she was the coordinator/instructor for Mt. Madonna High School, Regional Occupational Program Child Development class, and co-facilitated the Nurturing and Parenting Program.
In 2008, Espinosa received the Award for Exceptional Contribution to the WestEd Community for ensuring her PITC team successfully met the needs of Spanish language communities, special needs children, state licensing agencies, and international universities.
Espinosa received an MA in special education-early childhood from Santa Clara University.
