Arlene Paxton is the Content Area Team Director for Infant and Toddler Care at WestEd. In addition she is the director of the Program for Infant/Toddler Care Regional Support Network, a collaboration with the California Department of Social Service, Child Care and Development Division. With more than 20 years of experience working to design and develop systems that support professional development for early educators serving children birth to age 3 and their families, Ms. Paxton's work aims to increase the capacity and improve the quality of early care and education services through the delivery of training and technical assistance. She has led initiatives in California and other states, working closely with representatives from state education agencies, universities, First 5, Educare Learning Network, departments of education, and county offices of education to design training systems that support the professional development of early educators serving children birth to three, and their families.

Ms. Paxton’s most current achievement includes contributions and author acknowledgements to the recently published PITC Curriculum.

Paxton received a bachelor’s degree in early childhood development from Humboldt State University and a master’s degree in human development from Pacific Oaks College.
